The California coastline offers such a variety of landscapes. These images were taken just outside of Santa Cruz, at a few of the many beaches accessible from the highway. Tidal pools sprawl towards the sea, and from higher elevations you get an unmistakable feeling that this is where the land above gives way to a world below.
