Life in Deserts

Streams of Color

In 2015/16 I traveled solo to Austin, TX for work and a long holiday where I found dinosaurs behind an antique shop on Congress St. And later, in 2018/19, Gabrielle and I travelled to Denver and Paso Robles to explore and connect with friends. These photos are a small sample of the warm colors we experienced in the West. Street art in Denver. A view from a winery and from within an Adobe style room. For me, the colorful decoration of a cow skull with shadow becomes a metaphor for cultural resilience against the inevitability of death and the scarcity of water, the most basic ingredient of life.
